For the past week, we have been doing WFMS FairTrain Ticket contests here on our 8 Great Towns blog.  Well, today we are doing a Facebook contest!

The prize? 10 lawn tickets (yes, 10) to see Creed perform live at Verizon Wireless Music Center on Saturday, August 14. Show begins at 7:30.

The Wright Brothers

Despite the hot, humid weather on Saturday night, a few of my friends and I went to the 19th Annual Street Dance in Noblesville (it is our yearly tradition!). We arrived a little after 5 p.m. and found a shaded spot on the courthouse lawn.

Once we were set up, we wandered around the Square.  Most of the restaurants and shopswere open, busy and selling right from the sidewalk!  From hamburgers and hot dogs to Asian food, Italian food to Indiana’s famous pork tenderloins, any craving could be satisfied.

Again this year they had a car show, as well as a area set aside for children activities which is where a lot of young families spent their time.

Besides people watching, my favorite part of the event was listening to the wonderful music that the Wright Brothers provided!  The Wright Brothers are always able to get us out of our seats and dancing (literally) in the streets.

Get ready for a music festival that will blow your mind! Rock the District 2010 is back in Carmel for their district wide music festival and shopping extravaganza. Rock the District takes place this Saturday, July 24 from noon till 9 p.m.

The Renegades at 6:30 p.m.  and The Why Store at 8:30 p.m. are this year’s featured performances, but make sure to come early and check out the thirteen other performing bands! There is a mix of music variety to satisfy the needs of music lovers everywhere. Any type of music between acoustic and blues will be played.

While you are here, don’t forget to check out the amazing art on display. There will be full-size wooden guitars handcrafted by woodworker Kevin L. Wilson and painted by local artists!
